Description Shop Fitter Foreman Location: Abbeville, LA Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary The Fitter Foreman position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to fitters the scopes of their work, ensure adherence to drawing, fitter code, effectively assign and monitor tasks given to personnel, ensure productivity and efficiency of personnel, maintain a disciplined workforce, ensure Acadian's quality standards and procedures are followed and that shop and equipment under direction remain in good working condition. Responsibilities and Duties
- To be proficient in moving equipment/materials without causing damage, maintain forklift in good working condition, notify Yard Superintendent or Project Manager when any maintenance and/or repairs are required, and work efficiently and productively throughout workday.
- Involved in all daily JSEA meetings and JSEA development for daily tasks
- Coordinate fitter crews for daily project tasks
- In the absence of Shop Superintendent, coordinate daily project needs with Division Manager, associated Project Manager (s), and Project Coordinator to meet project and/or customer deliveries.
- Shall monitor all quality aspects on fabricated items (Spot check fabrication) including but not limited to:
- Fitting quality
- Completeness of work
- Complete daily crew timesheets and turn in to Shop Superintendent at the end of each workday
- Ensure that daily percent completions required by project schedule as directed by Shop Superintendent are met (i.e., ensure required production quantities are met daily to meet project schedules).
- Request NDE completion (when required) through Shop Superintendent and Shop QA/QC.
- Monitor and control daily housekeeping needs/requirements.
- Monitor personnel departure/return from lunch and break time.
- Complete CAR/NCR Investigation with Shop Superintendent (See Shop Super)
- Communicate Fitter requirements to assigned fitters and ensure assigned fitters are qualified.
- Monitor/ensure that assigned personnel utilizes the correct materials for project (grade, rating, Job #)
- Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as ACI as a company.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 3 years minimum experience in fabrication personnel supervisor or management role.
