Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Associate Director, administer department-wide functions for the Central Office and fifteen housing units by coordinating, providing direction, and monitoring judiciary procedures including investigations, hearings, and case resolution. Provide training and education to staff and students, and serve as a departmental liaison about conduct matters to other units. Assess and update policies and procedures through own expertise and solicitation of others' input.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in student conduct case adjudication at the collegiate level (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of federal regulations including Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy, Clery, Title IX, and Title VI. (Required)
  • Strong ability to analyze data, evaluate programs, and procedures, interpret information in order to convey consequences and recommend courses of action (Required)
  • Skill in writing business correspondence, analytical reports, publicity, procedural manuals and evaluation instruments to convey simple and complex information and to persuade others (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of student due process in judiciary matters in order to implement and coordinate disciplinary procedures. (Required)
  • Ability to design and implement training programs and courses in the area of discipline and other student affairs topics for professional and paraprofessional staff as well as for disciplinary review board (Required)
  • Ability to speak formally and informally by making prepared and extemporaneous presentations to individuals and groups in order to provide information, explain procedures, investigate facts, and persuade others (Required)
  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and campus and housing regulations (Required)
  • Ability to analyze data, evaluate programs, and procedures, interpret information in order to convey consequences and recommend courses of action (Required)
  • Working knowledge of microcomputer applications in a local area network, including database development, administration and management. (Required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with departmental staff, campus personnel, community persons, and students to produce quality group work (Required)

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
  • Advanced degree in Student Affairs, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or related field from an accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred)
