Responsibilities

  • The Director of Radiological Services is accountable for overseeing the management of the radiology department at Athens Hospital and Cedar Creek Lake facility, assuring accurate and timely test analysis, maintaining and properly utilizing all resources, establishing and implementing sectional goals and policies, promoting competency of staff and students through education, and ensuring appropriate and timely orientation for new employees.
  • Applies knowledge and skills professionally in the daily performance of management activities.
  • Assists in the design, measurement, monitoring, and implementation of programs to improve patient care within the hospital as measured by improved clinical outcome, improved efficiency of resource use, and improved patient and physician satisfaction.
  • This position directs and administers strategic, operational, fiscal, and personnel activities for all areas of the diagnostic imaging department, including X-Ray, Interventional, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, PET, and Mammography for both inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Prepares and manages budgets, manages/supervises staff, and ensures quality services are provided through daily operations.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.
  • This position is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all administrative aspects of radiological services in accordance with Ardent Health Services, regulatory agencies, and hospital guidelines.
  • Responsible for the business development of the radiology functions, including product definition, product development, pricing, profitability, revenue growth, and client and employee satisfaction.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

  • Graduation from an accredited program in medical radiography, radiologic sciences, or medical sonography.

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.

  • Licensed by the State of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

  • 5+ years' experience in Radiology with at least two years in a supervisory role.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare / Business Administration.

  • Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential through the AHRA.

  • Experience with Cardiac Imaging.
