This Centeral Scheduler opportunity is Full Time on our Centeral Scheduling and offers a convenient day shift schedule. Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accurately schedules patients in accordance with guidelines in the scheduling application for assigned outpatient procedures and in accordance with ancillary department specifications, including but not limited to: adding and deleting procedures and rescheduling procedures as needed
  • Obtains licensed nurse when family requests communication regarding patient's condition, beyond the Schedule Coordinator's scope of practice
  • Obtains and processes physicians' orders, i.e. calls to obtain orders, scans orders into the Document Imaging application, reminds patients to bring orders, etc. Review physician orders for appropriateness and address issues
  • Obtains diagnosis information and/or CPT code from the physician/office or the outpatient department, as necessary for completing the insurance authorization process

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Radiology scheduling and insurance authorization preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to type minimum of 40 wpm.
  • Knowledgeable in skills of patient/guest relations.
