The Project Leader is responsible for both leading and supporting projects assigned to Technical Directors and Managers within the corporate Technical Development group. Lead and support customer and MCC sponsored New Product Development projects and participate with group members in developing new opportunities across specific label platforms. Provide technical support to manufacturing, product development initiatives, and internal efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities:
- Assist Sales through customer navigation in identifying unmet needs and opportunities.
- With support from senior technical staff, provide support for Customers with label application equipment OEMs and/or at customer locations.
- Design (where able), lead, conduct, and document the results of trials and experiments. Where applicable, conduct any post-trial laboratory evaluations. When approved, support plant quality, cost and efficiency improvement projects.
- Follow the scale-up process and report to the Technical Director if non-compliance is observed.
- Update and maintain accuracy on the Master Tracker on a weekly basis. Push Sales for undocumented information.
- Participate in idea generation for new product development and problem solving.
- Provide technical support and project management for assigned projects with oversite from Technical Manager and/or Tech Director. Duties will include: * investigation of raw materials * documenting trial order requirements, scheduling & conducting internal printing & converting trials and documenting results * documenting specifications and gaining necessary approvals
- Seek to learn from your peers, Operators, Vendors, Equipment Suppliers, Customers and available research materials.

* Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; alternatively, 2-4 years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- This is an entry-level role. Candidates with relevant academic background or transferable work experience are encouraged to apply, even if they have not held a similar position before.
- Effective communication skills are necessary to perform essential job functions, including collaboration with internal teams and external customers.
- Ability to write clear and professional reports, business correspondence, and procedural documentation.
- Strong foundational math skills, including basic algebra, are required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational abilities are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn new software systems is important.
Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Occasional lifting of cartons weighing up to 40-45 lbs may be required.
- The role involves working in and around labeling areas, which may be tight, congested, or wet. Movement under conveyors may be necessary.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)-such as safety shoes, glasses, ear protection, and hard hat or bump cap-is required during customer site visits.
Work Schedule & Travel
- Flexibility to work across all shifts may be required during customer visits.
- Professional attire is expected when representing the company externally.
- This role requires frequent travel (approximately 30% to 60%), which may include short-notice trips and occasional weekend travel. Overnight stays are common for both internal meetings and customer engagements.
