Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to the following:
* Leads the department by setting the Vision and holding others to expectations such that the supervisors and employees ensure safe operations and adherence to regulatory, site and Aptar requirements by defining and utilizing leading indicator metrics (BBS, Safety Talk Calendar, required trainings, ERGO improvements and incident management at a minimum) to drive world class safety results and culture. JHA's are up to date for all tasks.
* In conjunction with sales/marketing and management coordinates and prioritizes the development of new customers, products and/or processes to ensure Aptar CSP business objectives are reached.
* Oversees the production quality resources of Aptar CSP Quality. Responsible for training a peer to relieve you and training a downline employee to back you up as well.
* Responsible for new process development, new equipment/product installation, start up and validation.
* Manages direct reports within the Aptar CSP Quality Department (Quality Assurance and Quality Control).
* Quality of product and Customer focus is supported by training of the department and oneself is > 80% to plan, timely response to CAR's, incidents and QMS requirements. Supports customer visits and audits by establishing expectations for all departmental employees.
* Customers are defined for Aptar CSP, products and services are monitored and measured for continuous improvement, including SAP and MES timeliness and accuracy
* Ensures that quality schedules are developed and managed with the Scheduler to meet internal volume, cost, quality, and daily output.
* Ensures that monthly quality reviews are developed & managed and analysed for the 3-18-month horizon, including capacity planning and optimization strategies to meet budgeted growth, service, inventory and sales targets.
* Analyzes quality metrics and makes recommendations/action plans for improvements and solutions to issues that are identified with a relentless pursuit for proactive operations excellence.
* Ensures that project/departmental milestones/Goals/KPI's are met and adhering to approved budgets +/- 5% and/or has management agreement on an alternative plan.
o KPI's are defined and reported formally at least weekly, communicated and understood by employees and agreed upon with n+1.
* Manage direct reports within the Aptar CSP Quality Department.
o Schedules 1:1 with n+1 at least every other week. Scores oneself on performance to responsibilities and compares and contrasts with n+1
o Supports n-1's by participating in their 1:1 meetings and encourages stretching to meet goals and objectives and reviews and assess n-1 performance to objectives at least twice a year
o Updates n+1 on objectives status at least twice per year.
o Defines SMART objectives annually and creates alignment with n+1 such that this is to plan and cascades down to n-1, n-2
o Completes performance reviews to planned timelines.
o Engages employees and has at least 4 OPL's and 4 OPK's per year in the department
o 60% employee participation in the annual employee survey
o 90% of employees complete training requirements on time.
o Employees engage in OEED by leading and driving inclusiveness.
o Maintains employee scorecards to drive n-1 improvements (e.g. - attendance points, GMP's, attendance, work performance and engagement)

o Utilizes disciplinary process when necessary and when performance feedback has not generated positive results.
o Employee turnover is monitored and managed.
* Responsible for ensuring that quality requirements are achieved (safety, production, scrap and budget), including ensuring that processes and procedures are properly documented and current.
* Enables and facilitates organizational continuous improvement and cost savings efforts. A minimum of at least one project contributes to savings each year.
* Lead member of the CAR team for quality issues in the department.
* Perform all other duties as required.
* Write procedures for new processes as well as revise and write new procedures for processes already in place.
* Collaborate with Operations, Applications Development and Quality to meet project requirements and timelines.
* Perform research projects to assist in improvements of Aptar CSP Technologies and its product lines.
* Perform statistical analysis on product data when required.
* Work with pertinent departments in developing and documenting new specifications, procedures and work instructions according to the Quality Management System.
* Work with Quality management to develop and set up any new testing that needs to be conducted per contract review.
* Lead and coordinate projects to support and promote quality and productivity at Aptar CSP Technologies with a particular focus on areas directly under the purview of this position:
o Incoming and Receiving Lab
o Raw Material Control
o Finished Production Testing Lab (work flow and test optimization)
o Employee Development
* Plan, develop, and supervise the collection and testing of samples for Process Validations.
* Support internal customers through information sharing, research and special projects.
* Participate in FMEA's and Design of Experiments related to current and/or new products.
Qualifications/Education/Special Skills
* Minimum Bachelors in Engineering Field or other field with related work experience
* Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred or capable of achieving Black Belt certification
* Proficiency in use of statistical, analytical tools
* Proficiency in the use of FMEA's and Design of Experiments preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Suite Applications
