Registered Nurse (RN) Endoscopy

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for an experienced Full-time Endoscopy Nurse to join its dynamic team.

Schedule is 4X10 hours shifts, between Monday-Friday, 0700-1730. Rotating late calls, weeknight, weekend and holiday on call.

Alexandria Endoscopy Lab has 4 endo suites, performing a comprehensive range of procedures from Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and Colonoscopy to Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) Endo Bariatric procedures, Endoscopic Ultrasound procedures, Bronchoscopy and Interventional Pulmonology.

The Endoscopy Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Ensures all patient care activities and interactions are patient and family centered by integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while showing respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Uses an integrated approach toward achieving desired patient outcomes while serving as an empowering body to influence patient empowerment and successful outcomes of financial and clinical quality, through relationships and access based knowledge.

Endoscopy RN Qualifications:

• Requires minimum 1 year OR, Endo, PACU or Critical Care (ICU/ED) nursing experience
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification issued by the AHA is required at hire; ACLS for Healthcare Provider Certification issued by the AHA to be completed within 90 days of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Endoscopy RN Preferred Qualifications:

• RN with at least 2 years of prior Endoscopy, ICU or ED nursing experience.
