Ambulance Research Specialist

Staffmark is hiring an Ambulance Research Specialist on behalf of a valued client in Shreveport, LA. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and experience in healthcare or medical billing-especially in ambulance transport services.

Pay: Starting at $14/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)

Responsibilities:

• Research and verify ambulance transport claims for accuracy and compliance with medical necessity and payer guidelines
• Analyze trip reports, patient care documentation, and related records
• Communicate with ambulance providers, healthcare facilities, and other stakeholders to obtain missing or clarifying information
• Collaborate with billing and coding teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely claims processing
• Accurately document findings and actions taken in internal systems
• Monitor trends in claim denials or documentation errors and report to management
• Stay informed on ambulance billing regulations and payer-specific requirements

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in healthcare, business, or a related field is preferred
• Experience in medical billing, ambulance billing, or healthcare administration strongly preferred
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn internal software systems
• High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
