Balance the Books, Build the Future: Staff Accountant

A well-established, quality-driven food manufacturing operation is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, cost analysis, and general ledger integrity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys digging into data, supporting leadership with meaningful insights, and contributing to a highly regulated, process-focused environment where precision matters.

What You'll Do



  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and related financial records.
  • Post journal entries and analyze general ledger activity for trends and variances.
  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers and depreciation schedules.
  • Review production costs and analyze variances and cost trends.
  • Support the Director of Accounting with daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by providing schedules and requested documentation.
  • Prepare and present oral and written reports based on financial analysis for upper management.
  • Collect and analyze financial data to identify control deficiencies, duplicated efforts, fraud, or non-compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Review financial data related to assets, liabilities, net worth, income, and expenditures.
  • Serve as backup support for other finance functions, including accounts payable, cost accounting, and payroll, as needed.
  • Support sales teams with customer reporting, pricing reviews, and related financial analysis.
  • Collaborate with production and support departments to ensure food safety and product quality standards are upheld.
  • Perform additional accounting and finance duties as assigned.


What You Bring



  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting roles.
  • Proven experience working with Oracle ERP systems, including month-end close and compliance support.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and GAAP standards.
  • Experience with balance sheet analysis, bank reconciliations, depreciation calculations, and revenue recognition.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and experience with accounting software.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and commitment to work quality and operational excellence.


Physical & Work Environment Requirements



  • Prolonged sitting with continuous computer use.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs as needed.
