What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an exceptional Supply Chain Manager to lead the sourcing and supply chain strategy for all critical components within our Optimus Electronics division, including Sensing Technologies, Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA's). This pivotal role focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies for components essential to the groundbreaking Optimus project, ensuring supply assurance, competitive pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. As a key member of our Supply Chain Organization, you will have the historic opportunity to help establish the world's first supply chain for Humanoid Robotics, pioneering transformative solutions in advanced robotics and technology. The Supply Chain Manager will build and maintain robust supplier relationships to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

At Tesla, our dynamic culture demands adaptability, initiative, and a forward-thinking mindset. We're looking for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in sourcing across electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and sensing technologies, combined with technical acumen and the drive to excel in a high-impact, high-visibility role.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee the end-to-end RFx process for Sensing Components, Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, and PCBA's, including preparing and issuing RFQs to potential suppliers, analyzing responses, negotiating favorable terms, securing internal approvals, and selecting partners that align with Tesla's strategic goals for Optimus Electronics
  • Lead data aggregation efforts to enhance supply chain transparency, forecasting, and decision-making, particularly for electro-mechanical and electronic components
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless New Product Introduction (NPI) and efficient scaling to mass production across all Optimus Electronics components, including sensing technologies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and PCBA's
  • Assess global supply chain risks specific to sensing technologies, electro-mechanical assemblies, and PCBA manufacturing, developing contingency plans to support Tesla's high-volume production needs for Optimus
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitoring systems for suppliers across all component categories to track performance trends, identify risks, and uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other contracts are in place prior to engaging with suppliers for all Optimus Electronics components
  • Play a central role in creating the world's first supply chain for Humanoid Robotics, shaping innovative sourcing and manufacturing strategies that will redefine the future of robotics technology

What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years in supply chain management or procurement with a focus on electronics manufacturing, electro-mechanical assemblies, and/or sensing technologies
  • Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes (SMT, through-hole, testing, and final assembly), electro-mechanical assembly processes (integration of mechanical and electronic components), and sensing technologies (vision, proximity, motion, or environmental detection)
  • Familiarity with key components used in advanced electronics and robotics, such as MCUs, SoCs, power electronics, and materials relevant to electro-mechanical systems
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or product development related to electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and sensing technologies
  • Experience with data collection and analysis for supply chain optimization, preferably in a Global Supply Management context
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a high-energy, innovative environment
