The Clinical Consultant Pharmacist, HealthTrust Segment, provides clinical support for OptumRx implementation team, operations, and other internal departments. This individual is relied upon to support implementation activities for new clients onboarding with OptumRx, as well as be the main clinical resource for a small group of existing clients. In this role, the Clinical Consultant Pharmacist would also support HealthTrust's Clinical Advantage Service Model Account Executives with both behind-the-scenes and client facing support. The individual would also leverage clinical expertise to assist with managing HealthTrust's custom clinical programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the implementations team to onboard new HealthTrust clients. This role would be the primary clinical contact and support for clients new to Optum Rx via the HealthTrust coalition
  • Provide clinical consultation and clinical account management for HealthTrust's Clinical Advantage Service Model. This role would provide support for client facing requests for this client pool, which the leadership team at HealthTrust has requested on numerous occasions
  • Collaborate with the implementations team to onboard new HealthTrust clients. This role would be the primary clinical contact and support for clients new to OptumRx via the HealthTrust coalition
  • Manage a smaller book (~5-6 clients) and provide clinical support to clients. Identify opportunities for clinical program up-sell and spearhead up-sell to assigned client(s). Provide pipeline and drug information. Participate in quarterly pharmacy review meetings. Comprehend and effectively explain formulary and clinical program changes to clients
  • Assist with updates and changes to HealthTrust's portfolio of custom clinical offerings. Maintain and update custom Utilization Management Criteria. Provide the primary clinical support for HealthTrust's custom exclusion list called, Emerging Trends Management Program (ETMP). Additionally, the pharmacist in this role would work with marketing materials for the HealthTrust custom programs, create reporting for the programs, and train the HealthTrust clinical team on these new initiatives
  • Assist leadership with biannual updates of HealthTrust's custom modified formularies. Lead work for custom formulary disruption reports, lettering, and client notification templates
  • Utilize clinical knowledge to upskill the Clinical Support Consultants that support the HealthTrust Clinical team. This role would work with the CSC on efficient ways and best practices to provide support to the HealthTrust clinical consultants. This role would oversee RxComet revisioning for CASM clients, task submission, and rolling out of new functions for the CSC team
  • Support sales and marketing including participating in RFP & strategic Finalist activities
  • Consistently look at existing processes, methods and materials to find opportunities for improvement

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree
  • Active, unrestricted US state-specific pharmacist license
  • 3+ years of pharmacy practice experience, including 2+ years of clinical account management experience within a PBM or Managed Care, including external client-facing (beyond patients and prescribers) responsibilities
  • 2+ years of providing formal client presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Willing and ability to travel up to 25%
  • Willing to work occasionally outside of business hours as client needs dictate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASHP/AMCP-accredited residency in Managed Care
  • 3+ years of managed care or PBM experience
  • Experience supporting, planning and facilitating Pharmacy & Therapeutic (P&T) committees
  • Experience implementing Formulary Management and Utilization Management criteria

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
