Security Officer - Education Campus Patrols

As a Security Officer - Education Campus Patrols in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence and exceptional customer service will support a welcoming atmosphere, while your communication skills and reliability will contribute to a positive experience for all on campus.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations within the educational environment in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter security-related incidents and maintain a visible presence.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, students, visitors, and/or law enforcement as needed.
• Complete reports and documentation related to daily activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal policies and client requirements.
• Remain alert and attentive to surroundings to help to deter potential security-related concerns within the educational setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
