CAE Crash Safety Engineer (LS-DYNA)

Location: Raymond, OH

Pay Rate: $44.54 - $51.71 per hour

Work Type: Onsite / Engineering Facility

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced CAE Crash Safety Engineer to support vehicle safety development through advanced crash and impact simulations. This role focuses on system-level vehicle modeling, simulation analysis, and safety performance evaluation using LS-DYNA, supporting compliance with NCAP, IIHS, and internal safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on CAE expertise and the ability to translate simulation results into actionable engineering recommendations.

Key Responsibilities



  • Prepare and perform crash safety and impact simulations using LS-DYNA
  • Build, visualize, and analyze complex vehicle system-level CAE models
  • Evaluate simulation results against:

    • New Car Assessment Program (NCAP)
    • Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)
    • Internal vehicle safety standards


  • Identify performance gaps and develop engineering countermeasures
  • Communicate simulation findings and recommendations to cross-functional engineering teams
  • Create detailed engineering documentation, analysis reports, and presentations
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers to support vehicle safety development



Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 6+ years of industry experience as a CAE Analyst
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with LS-DYNA
  • Strong experience using:

    • ANSA (pre-processing)
    • Meta-Post (post-processing)


  • Proven expertise in vehicle crashworthiness and impact simulation analysis
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills


Note: A related advanced degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills



  • Experience supporting automotive OEM safety programs
  • Familiarity with vehicle-level safety regulations and rating systems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with design, test, and validation teams



Physical & Work Requirements



  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs (occasionally)
  • Moderate bending, standing, walking, and sitting as required
  • Ability to drive a vehicle when necessary
  • No routine exposure to hazardous materials or extreme temperatures
