Uconnect 5 - Design Release Engineer

Uconnect Design Release Engineer is responsible for leading by supporting the DRE team in the development, testing, and delivery of state-of-the-art audio and infotainment features as well as the integration of the infotainment component into specific vehicles. This position will be also responsible for supplier management for hardware and software releases as per the vehicle timeline. The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail. The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers with the cross functional team. Self-motivated with excellent program management and communication skills.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:



  • DRE for R1 High


  • Lead design reviews / change discussions for the platform (TCRs, part shortages/replacements, design updates)


  • Help support team members where deliverables are needed and where the focus needs to be applied


  • Knowledge of Stellantis development processes and milestones to support vehicle development


  • Oversight on all assigned vehicle programs and provide containment(s) to ensure issues are not repeated


  • Knowledgeable of vehicle networks (ie CAN) as well as Ethernet networks


  • Will help develop the in-vehicle networking requirements (CAN, LIN, networks) related to different vehicle programs and manage core networking requirements

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in automotive systems engineering.
  • Hands on experience with automotive systems engineering
  • Knowledgeable of vehicle networks (ie CAN) as well as Ethernet networks
  • The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail
  • The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers with the cross functional team
  • Self-motivated with excellent program management and communication skills
  • Knowledge of vehicle networks and diagnosis tools and strong problem-solving skills



Preferred Qualification:



  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with FCA specific tools and processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
