The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Patient Access Representative position plays a key role in the health system in providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely throughput and capturing all necessary data timely. The Patient Access Representative is responsible to greet all patients in a timely and friendly manner. A core function of this position is to ensure that all customers, external and internal, are treated with the highest level of respect.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 1- 2 years experience in office setting/patient relations

Preferred:

  • Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care Medical terminology and computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Attention to accuracy and detail

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day shift, 6:30am-5:00pm
  • Monday through Friday availability
  • Per Diem

Essential Functions:

  • Performs patient check-in and check-out functions.
  • Answers routine questions in person and over the telephone
  • Performs basic clerical functions such as copying, scanning, faxing, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Creates and maintains health record information, files, and organizes as needed.
  • Coordinates with insurance providers and handles pre-authorizations and certifications as necessary.
