General Job Description

The Manager, Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering leads WPS's hybrid infrastructure operations with accountability for reliability, operational maturity, and risk reduction across cloud, on-premises, and DevOps environments. This role manages the Systems Engineer and DevOps Engineer and ensures infrastructure and DevOps work is transparent, supportable, and resilient beyond any single individual or vendor. The manager serves as the operational owner of infrastructure reliability, disaster recovery readiness, and cloud governance, while maintaining sufficient technical fluency to safely support DevOps and cloud operations when needed.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in hybrid infrastructure operations with practical familiarity in cloud and DevOps practices, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across infrastructure operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Infrastructure and DevOps teams.
  • Oversee AWS environments, cloud architecture,andresource optimization.
  • Manage hybrid infrastructure, including on-prem servers, M365, identity services, networking, and storage.
  • Own governance and operational hygiene for Microsoft 365 and identity platforms (Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Intune), including lifecycle management, conditional access policies, security posture, and tenant configuration standards.
  • Own the operational reliability of WPS systems, including uptime, incident response for infrastructure issues, patching execution, and system performance.
  • Ownthe technical execution of disaster recovery readiness, including backups, runbooks, recovery procedures, and high-availability planning, in alignment with DR governance led by the Information Security & Complianceteam.
  • Establish andmaintainmonitoring, alerting, and performance management standards.
  • Drive cloud and infrastructure cost optimization through resourceright-sizing, usage analysis, and automation.
  • Ensure infrastructure and DevOps knowledge is documented, shared, and supportable across the team toeliminatesingle points of failure and reduce dependency on individual contributors or external vendors.

DevOps & Automation

  • Provide technical leadership to the DevOpsEngineer and guide pipeline stability, automation, and deployment efficiency.
  • Oversee CI/CD tooling, Infrastructure-as-Code practices, and cloud deployment automation.
  • Provide technical oversight and operational accountability for DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and deployment automation, ensuring pipelines and cloud deployments are reliable, documented, and supportable by the broader team.

Security Partnership

  • Implement secure baseline configurations and perform security-driven configuration changes in collaboration with the Security & Complianceteam, including support for remediation efforts.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, system hardening, patching strategy, and IAM improvements.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets security requirements for SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR,CCPA,and customer contractual obligations.
  • Implementnetwork andfirewallconfiguration changes based on security requirements defined by the Information Security & Complianceteam.

Operational Ownership

  • Overseevendor relationships, including cloud providers, hardware/software vendors, licensing, and managed service providers to ensure cost-effective and reliable operations.
  • Conduct capacity planning and ensure systems scale with business needs.
  • Develop and document processes, runbooks, and operational standards.
  • Maintain long-term operational hygiene across identity and collaboration platforms, including periodic reviews of access controls, tenant configuration, compliance settings, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Provideleadership during infrastructure incidents, including after-hours escalation support as needed.
  • Identifyandeliminateoperational fragility by ensuring infrastructure, DevOps processes, and vendor-delivered work are documented, measurable, and supportable by the internal team.

Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 7-10+ years' experience in infrastructure and cloud engineering across hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • 2+years' experiencein team leadership or people management.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud deployment automation, with the ability to reason through failures and safely support incident resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience improving operational resilience through documentation, runbooks, cross-training, and elimination of single points of failure.
  • Experience administering and governing Microsoft 365 / Entra ID environments, including identity lifecycle management, conditional access policies, and endpoint compliance.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPCs, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experiencemaintainingsecure, compliant systems aligned with SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills withabilityto work across teams.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior engineers across infrastructure, DevOps, and product teams, balancing leadership with technicalpartnership.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
