Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Rounds Specialist in Sterling, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, help to deter security-related incidents, and maintain a visible presence. You will interact with employees and visitors, provide outstanding customer service, and respond to situations as needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor the premises within a technology-focused location, addressing any issues or incidents as they arise.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of activities, observations, and incidents during each shift.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and staff to provide assistance and relay important information.
  • Support Allied Universal management by following all post orders and participating in ongoing training related to security-related practices.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
