The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of Social Worker I in the Health & Human Services department. Under close supervision, incumbents perform routine to minimally complex social services case work by providing a variety of services to County residents; identify, assess, and arrange alternative solutions to clients’ needs and obstacles; carry a minimally complex caseload; and perform related work as assigned. The work may be related to a specific program area or to a more general social service benefit provision.

Ability to work in a specific program area or provide general social service support
Education and Experience: MINIMUM: 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college with at least 30 semester or 45 quarter units in behavioral or social sciences, psychology, social work, or related field and one (1) year of case management experience in a health, social services, or community-based organization. PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in a related field and additional years of case management experience in a public agency.
Licenses and Certification:
- The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment.
Special Requirements:
- May be required to work outside normal working hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and other off-hours shifts.
- Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation, which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
- DMV printout prior to hire.
- Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
Salary/Compensation: $4,528 - $4,981 per month
