Summary:

In this role, you will independently analyze pharmacy and healthcare data to identify financial trends, cost-saving opportunities, and business insights. You will leverage advanced analytical tools including Excel, SQL, and Power BI to develop reports, perform economic and financial analyses, and support strategic decision-making across multiple business lines. This position requires strong technical, analytical, and stakeholder management skills, along with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of customized analyses, leveraging internal and external, raw and / or published data, as well as structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Build and maintain internal reporting tools and dashboards using SQL and Power BI to transform operational data into actionable insights, improve visibility into key business metrics, and support data-driven decision-making across internal teams.
  • Consider understanding of competitive factors and Vizient differentiators into analysis; may synthesize insights.
  • Research and incorporate knowledge of best practices into identification of data sources and analysis of information.
  • Lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
  • Establish strong working relationships and active communication with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively manage expectations.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.
  • Presents recommendations to internal and external stakeholders and helps identify a course of action.
  • Leverage data to influence stakeholder decisions through advising and counseling.
  • Plan and conduct stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and / or understand current business processes.
  • Develop and maintain data sets and coordinates with others on dependencies.

Qualifications:

  • Degree preferred in Finance, Economics, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, financial, analytics required.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and/or Power BI required; proficiency in both strongly preferred.
  • Experience performing financial analysis within healthcare or pharmaceutical industries strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare economics and/or medical economics preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience working with pharmacy claims, healthcare claims, or other large healthcare datasets preferred.
  • Experience conducting cost savings analyses and developing financial recommendations preferred.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries preferred.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex datasets and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $68,500.00 to $116,300.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
