Job Description:

Tech Advisory Manager - IT Due Diligence

Tech Advisory brings structure, clarity, and leadership to technology decisions - from diligence through execution - so our clients can grow without IT slowing them down.

We work with companies navigating M&A, rapid growth, and operational complexity. Our team combines strategic judgment with hands-on delivery, helping investors and operators make confident, high-leverage IT decisions.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Tech Advisory Consulting Manager to support and deliver IT Due Diligence (ITDD) services for private equity and corporate clients. This role plays a key leadership position on IT diligence engagements - managing execution, coordinating with clients and target management, and ensuring diligence outputs are high-quality, practical, and decision-oriented.

The Manager will lead day-to-day diligence workstreams, synthesize findings, and communicate insights to deal teams and senior stakeholders, while working closely with Senior Managers and Partners who oversee overall engagement strategy and client relationships.

This role is ideal for a strong delivery leader with hands-on experience assessing technology environments in the context of acquisitions, investments, and strategic transactions, who is ready to take on greater ownership of engagements and client interaction.

Core Service Focus: IT Due Diligence

As a Manager within IT Due Diligence, you will:

  • Manage day-to-day execution of IT Due Diligence engagements for private equity firms and strategic buyers
  • Support engagement scoping and planning in collaboration with Senior Managers and Partners
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for client deal teams and target company IT leaders during execution
  • Interface confidently with target company management, including CIOs, IT leaders, and functional owners
  • Assess the current-state IT environment and its ability to support growth, scalability, and value creation post-transaction

You will contribute to structured assessments across:

  • Business applications & ERP landscape
  • Infrastructure and cloud environments
  • Cybersecurity and IT risk posture
  • Data, reporting, and integration readiness
  • IT organization, spend, and governance

You will help identify deal risks, red flags, value-creation opportunities, and integration considerations, and clearly communicate findings to senior engagement leaders for inclusion in client deliverables and recommendations.

Additional Service Offerings

While primarily focused on IT Due Diligence, Managers may also support and contribute to:

  • IT Strategy & Roadmaps - Supporting multi-year IT strategy development aligned to business objectives and investment theses
  • IT M&A Integrations - Assisting with integration planning and execution across systems, infrastructure, and teams
  • IT System Selection - Supporting ERP and enterprise system evaluations and vendor selection processes
  • IT PMO / Office of the CIO - Providing project leadership and delivery support for critical IT initiatives

Key Responsibilities:

Client Delivery & Advisory Support

  • Serve as a day-to-day engagement leader for IT Due Diligence workstreams
  • Support client relationships with private equity deal teams, operating partners, and portfolio company management
  • Participate in diligence readouts, executive discussions, and investment committee materials
  • Translate technical findings into clear, business-focused insights
  • Partner with Senior Managers to align IT findings to deal theses, valuation considerations, and post-close planning

Engagement Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent diligence engagements or workstreams
  • Oversee engagement timelines, staffing, and day-to-day execution
  • Ensure diligence outputs are accurate, consistent, and client-ready
  • Apply strong judgment to focus on what matters most under tight diligence timelines
  • Navigate ambiguity common to transaction environments

Practice Development & Collaboration

  • Contribute to proposal development and client pursuits as needed
  • Support the refinement and standardization of IT diligence tools, templates, and methodologies
  • Identify recurring risks, themes, and insights across deals and share with practice leadership
  • Support downstream opportunities related to post-close execution and advisory work

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor Consultants and Senior Consultants across engagements
  • Review team work products and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Support performance development and on-the-job coaching
  • Foster a collaborative, high-quality consulting environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
  • 6-10 years of experience in technology consulting, transaction advisory, or IT Due Diligence
  • Hands-on experience supporting or leading IT Due Diligence and M&A-related technology engagements
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Enterprise applications and ERP platforms
    • Modern infrastructure and cloud environments
    • Cybersecurity risk in transaction contexts
    • IT cost structures and operating models
  • Experience working across multiple industries; mid-market experience preferred
  • Exposure to AI strategy, assessments, or use of AI-based tools is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, deliver complex work, and operate in fast-paced deal environments
  • Relevant certifications (PMP, ITIL, COBIT, CISA, etc.) are a plus

Work Environment

  • Hybrid or Remote work arrangement
  • 25-50% travel depending on client needs
