JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, Market Access maximizes patient access and reimbursement for Novocure oncology products by owning day to day U.S. payer initiatives across coding, coverage, payment, contracting, and payer pull through. The role partners closely with Revenue Operations, Government Affairs, Legal/Compliance, and Commercial to execute strategies that expand coverage and optimize payment across Medicare, Medicaid, VA/DoD, and commercial payers. This is a full time, exempt, hybrid role located in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, Portsmouth NH, or Washington DC, and reports to the Senior Director, Market Access. Periodic travel is required for payer and provider meetings and industry conferences. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with payers to ensure timely coverage and appropriate payment
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial payors, CMS, state Medicaid agencies, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and other government stakeholders to clarify medical policy, and resolve complex reimbursement issues for Veteran and Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries
- Drive the submission and pull through of coverage, coding, and payment requests (e.g., HCPCS, LCD/NCD processes, Medicaid policies), coordinating cross functional input and ensuring compliant, high quality filings
- Prepare persuasive policy and payer facing materials (briefings, issue summaries, talking points, contracting justifications) that integrate clinical and economic evidence
- Monitor and analyze federal and state payment policies (e.g., Medicare DME, hospital/physician fee schedules) and commercial payer trends; translate insights into practical guidance for internal and field teams
- Collaborate with Government Affairs to align on policy priorities, respond to rulemakings (e.g., CMS proposed/fee schedule rules), and support advocacy with data and subject matter expertise
- Create and update coding/billing guides, coverage summaries, and provider education to support compliant reimbursement and a positive customer experience
- Track payer coverage policies for Novocure and competitors; maintain dashboards and communicate changes, risks, and opportunities with recommended actions
- Lead special projects (e.g., benefit design assessments, prior authorization burden reduction, site of care economics) with clear timelines, milestones, and stakeholder alignment
- Ensure all market access activities comply with company policies, applicable laws, and industry standards; proactively escalate risks and propose mitigations
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of healthcare reimbursement experience required; advanced degree or coursework in health policy, health economics, or a related field is preferred
- 5+ years of U.S. medical device or biopharma market access/reimbursement experience, including contracting and/or government procurement exposure
- Comprehensive knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, VA/DoD, and commercial payer environments; familiarity with DME and other relevant payment methodologies
- Working proficiency in CPT, ICD 10, and HCPCS coding; ability to interpret coverage, payment, and policy documents and communicate implications to stakeholders
- Demonstrated creative problem solving with a track record of meeting or exceeding customer expectations in complex situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage C suite, medical directors, case managers, and contracting personnel with professionalism and clarity
- Strong quantitative and analytic skills with the ability to interpret company and payer data, draw insights, and present recommendations
- Advanced project management and prioritization skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives concurrently and follow through independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of protected health information (PHI) and HIPAA Privacy and Security guidelines preferred.
