What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Program Control Manager to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA!

As a Program Control Manager, you will play a critical role by supporting the planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of various types of programs. You will collaborate with the program team to create, maintain and status program schedules in MS Project. You will establish a cost baseline for programs and work with program team to develop, manage, and monitor a realistic Estimate At Complete. Your guidance and influence with the Program Manager will be key to achieving strong financial performance and positive customer experience. You will co-own the financial and scheduling performance with the Program Manager. You will leverage your knowledge of Earned Value Management to provide performance information to the program team. You will ensure full compliance with company processes and procedures across you and your team's programs. You will develop a foundational understanding of the technical side of the program to provide meaningful advice to the program team. You will present the financial, schedule, and performance information on your programs to leadership at the monthly program reviews. You will oversee the risk register and manage the project scope, schedule, and cost changes. You will work across our dynamic Program Control team, interface daily with Program Managers, finance personnel, functional groups and engineering staff in a team environment specifically designed to achieve program and professional success.


The day-to-day

  • Meet with the Program Manager to establish a schedule and cost baseline.
  • Status the schedule and program performance monthly.
  • Update the Estimate at Complete monthly.
  • Review and approve procurement requests.
  • Review labor reports and provide guidance to the team.
  • Create and update the Risk Register with the Program Manager.
  • Implement mitigation plans when necessary.
  • Review financials obligations.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or technical field.
  • Typically requires 15+ years of experience.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, problem solving, performance analysis, utilizing program management techniques and achieving the goals of the program and business area.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project and scheduling experience in a high-tech engineering environment
  • Must be proficient in MS PowerPoint, Advanced Excel skills, and a mastery of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of EVMS Guidelines, DoD EVMSIG, and IBR requirements.
  • Understanding and prior support of Cost Plus and Time & Material programs.
  • Experience creating IPMR/IPMDAR reports for submission to customers.
  • Experience as a Program Control Analyst, Program Scheduler, or Program Finance Analyst.
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Experience presenting financial and scheduling reports to leadership.
  • U.S. government position. US citizenship required.

  • Understanding of government Cost Accounting Standards and the FAR.

Salary range

$135,500.00 - $213,500.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $168,500.00- $252,500.00/ annually
