What you'll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Early Careers Recruiting Manager to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA working in a hybrid format.

The Early Careers Manager will lead a team responsible for building and scaling global Early Career programming and recruitment processes for Viasat. This includes attracting early talent through brand awareness, managing full cycle recruitment, and overseeing global programs such as the internship and graduate development program. This person will engage with universities to build relationships and attract the next generation of the Viasat workforce by introducing and promoting the Viasat brand to a broad range of students. The Early Career Manager will work collaboratively across the organization to initiate, advocate, drive and measure programs and talent practices. You will employ a data-driven approach balanced with creativity and experience to design and develop a world class Early Career program.


The day-to-day

  • Lead full cycle recruitment of 200+ global interns and full time hires annually.
  • Manage delivery of Viasat's internship and graduate development programs and drive program consistency and growth across multiple countries- including onboarding, networking events, mentor program, performance management, and learning and development.
  • Partner and collaborate across the organization with hiring managers, candidates, business leaders, talent partners, finance, business partners, culture & inclusion, social impact, and executives.
  • Work closely with our Brand and Marketing team and other areas on external brand and employee value proposition.
  • Develop and maintain annual budget; evaluating ROI against year over year spend.
  • Partner with compensation to understand the university talent market to stay competitive with intern and recent college graduate salaries, bonuses, and relocation trends.
  • Drive forecasting and workforce planning with data to inform hiring needs, focusing on building a talent pipeline through intern conversion.
  • Plan and host events such as office tours, career fairs, new hire networking events, etc.
  • Manage annual compensation planning alongside finance and Compensation teams.
  • Shape the development of the Early Careers strategy and manage delivery of programs to strengthen long-term pipelines.
  • Identify key universities to engage with based on talent needs.
  • Explore, design, and implement AI-enabled talent strategy to drive operational efficiency.
  • Produce regular reporting and analytics to monitor workforce trends, risks, and opportunities.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, human resources, communications, psychology or a related field or equivalent experience of 5-8 years in talent acquisition leadership.
  • Proven experience in full cycle Early Career recruitment and programs as well as people leadership on a global scale.
  • Strong knowledge of workforce analytics, forecasting methodologies, and headcount governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and embed enterprise-level, global Early Career talent programming creatively and effectively aligned to business objectives.
  • Experience partnering with finance, people & culture, and business leadership to influence strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interpret and present data to influence at senior levels.
  • This role requires a minimum of three days per week onsite at the Carlsbad, CA location, or as required by business needs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

  • Proficiency in iCIMS Applicant Tracking System, Workday, Excel, and project management software or tools
  • Familiarity with workforce planning and forecasting models
  • Exposure to global workforce planning challenges and solutions

Salary range

$91,500.00 - $144,000.00 / annually.
For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $113,500.00- $170,500.00/ annually
