Job Summary

Take the lead in the project staging process, operating independently to design and prepare network hardware and software infrastructure for project installations. Mentor other team members, working cross functionally as appropriate and support efforts to perform knowledge transfer activities to expand the staging, product, and sales engineering team specialization.

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree and six years of customer-facing experience in a similar role, with a preference to have experience in the hospitality sector. Must be skilled in configuring and troubleshooting: LAN/WAN and digital switching technologies, software, hardware and servers, routers, modems, wireless, TCP/IP and QoS hardware and software. Must be well-versed in secure network operations practice and theory, with demonstrated knowledge and application to troubleshoot and diagnose computer hardware and software issues, networking, and VoIP equipment.

This is an exempt role and is a member of the Project Management, Full Tech Department reporting directly to the Director, Technology Solutions with a work location of Taylor, MI.

Allbridge is currently operating under a hybrid work model, allowing colleagues the opportunity to connect with others in person and the flexibility to work remotely. For some business groups and positions, job function requirements may require more time at the primary work location, while greater flexibility may be in place for others.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary remote/onsite (as needed) engineer for any Building System/Managed Services (BOH) type projects.

  • Serve as a lead for staging and training others on Building System/Managed Services staging best practices.

  • Position must reside and be based out of the Detroit Warehouse location.

  • This position would also be available; as time permits; to also provide back up support for the Building Systems/Managed Services (BOH) Tech Support team if there are spikes in support needs.

  • Take the lead in the project staging process, operating independently to design and prepare secure network hardware and software infrastructure for project installations.
  • Mentor other team members, working cross functionally as appropriate to support efforts to perform knowledge transfer activities to expand the staging, product, and sales engineering team specialization.
  • As applicable, design network architectures by building virtual LANs, IP Address schemes, and firewall configurations to establish secure networks considering both VLANs and IP schemes.
  • Work independently to accurately perform building systems design and documentation from a bill of materials document, preparing supporting resources for installation and support teams.
  • With limited oversight and supervision, accurately configure and activate as appropriate CCTV cameras and NVRs, network equipment, virtual servers, A/V equipment, and other software apps (i.e., email, AD, O365, etc.).Develop technical documentation and standard operational procedures, per company standards.
  • Working as a subject matter expert, as needed remotely provide tech support to resolve customer and service desk network challenges as needed.
  • Work closely with the warehouse team members, communicating inventory and team logistics, setting expectations for timely and effective project deliveries. In all cases perform all work in support of occupational health, safety and health, security, and business continuity planning.
  • Oversee, coordinate, direct, and train the warehouse team to ensure timely completion of work to meet demands of the business,performingdaily quality assurance checks, maximize efficiencies, cross training, safety, and inventory adjustments as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain network equipment in support of optimal availability, security, and integrity, performing daily, weekly, monthly, etc. reporting on key network infrastructure, escalating incidents as needed. Has authority to communicate operational impacts and provide customer support to authorized hotel and technology operations managers.
  • Proactively initiates testing and deploying updates to network infrastructure including critical firmware and operating system patches.
  • Work in collaboration with the project management and field installation teams, to effectively andtimelyprepare project equipment per contract specifications. As needed, receive, unpack, label, configure, and stage network hardware equipment, including switches, Wi-Fi, firewalls, and servers.

Required Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university (or international equivalent) in computer science, information technology, network engineering, cybersecurity, management, or another related field preferred.
  • Must have at least 6 years of customer-facing experience in a similar role, with a preference to have experience in the hospitality sector.
  • Must be skilled in configuring and troubleshooting: LAN/WAN and digital switching technologies, software, hardware and servers, routers, modems, wireless, TCP/IP and QoS hardware and software.
  • Must be well-versed insecurenetwork operations practice and theory, withdemonstratedknowledge and application to troubleshoot and diagnose computer hardware and software issues, networking,and VoIP equipment.
  • Professional designation inat leastonetechnology product:EnGenius, Ruckus, Aruba, Fortinet,WatchGuard,or relatedhardwaredemonstratingmastery of the practical, technical, and operational aspects ofdata, voice, video, and networking.
