Scope of Work:

The Entry-Level Financial Analyst will support financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions within a government contracting environment. This role involves assisting with budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and compliance with federal contract regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). The analyst will work closely with project managers, accounting, and contracts teams to ensure accurate financial oversight and data integrity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and monitoring project budgets and forecasts for government contracts.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and variance analyses.
  • Track project costs and labor charges to ensure alignment with contract terms and budgets.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and risks.
  • Support proposal pricing and cost estimations during the bidding process.
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, and company policies.
  • Maintain financial models, dashboards, and metrics used to assess program performance.
  • Prepare and submit internal and external reports, including incurred cost submissions and funding reports.
  • Collaborate with contracts, accounting, and program management to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and support audits as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of experience in finance, accounting, or an internship in a government contracting environment preferred.
  • Understanding of GAAP and familiarity with government regulations (FAR, DFARS) is a plus.
  • Strong Excel skills: experience with financial systems (e.g., Deltek Costpoint,) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and handling office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel.
  • May occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).
  • Clear vision to read documents on computer screens.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone/video meeting, and email.
