Position Summary
Team lead will oversee a team of GRAs and URAs during family facing research visits that happen in participant homes, public spaces, and the BIRC center at UGA. Team lead will be responsible for ensuring the proper adherence to protocols and maintaining family rapport during field visits. Team leads will also be responsible for all direct reporting of issues arising in the field and report to the research coordinator, center coordinator, and PIs as needed.

This position is grant-funded and is expected to continue through approximately 2028 (five years from the project's start date in 2023). Extension beyond this period is contingent upon the availability of continued funding.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully both orally and in written form.
  • Experience working with school age and early adolescent children in research and pseudo-medical settings.
  • Able to follow standardized research procedures and monitor others in real-time for protocol adherence.
  • Can competently manage schedules of multiple RA employees, ensuring adequate covering for research visits.
  • Understands how and when flexibility within visits can be granted to ensure participant comfort while adhering to research best practices and project protocols.

Lead research visits, including home drop-offs of materials and consent procedures, home visits for study participation, and visits at the BIRC center on UGA's campus.

Meet with research teams weekly to review problem cases, protocol questions, and other issues. Meet with project leadership to discuss overall progress and process. Provide updates to center leadership on ongoing tasks and the overall progress of data collection.
