Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for researching, implementing new tooling and manufacturing techniques. Areas of focus include manual and CNC milling, turning, grinding and presswork.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Duties include initiating and implementing projects to improve quality, productivity, reduce costs, improve 6S conditions and provide documented cost reductions throughout the manufacturing facility
  • Troubleshoot and permanently resolve Engineering related problems, manufacturing issues and product related problems with suppliers
  • Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineering on drawing, process, tooling and CNC programming issues
  • Approve routing standards change requests
  • Process corrective action requests, participate in deep dives and conduct internal procedure audits as required.
  • Provide proper verbal and written reports, project write-ups and documentation for all projects and tasks including testing of equipment, supplies, and materials as well as follow-up documentation for cost reductions and variance improvements.




REQUIREMENTS:



  • Technical Degree; ASME or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a metal working environment preferred.
  • Experience with CNC Programming and tool design.
  • Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma helpful.
