Our satellite campus offers a 22-bed residential treatment program for adolescents. Summary of Core Job Functions:

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for developing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating nursing care and practice within the psychiatric nursing division. Serves as a resource person, guides, counsels, and instructs professional and ancillary nursing personnel.


Qualifications

Essential Core Functions:

* Nurse/Patient Relationship: Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.

* Participates in formulating, implementing, and evaluating hospital, departmental and program objectives, standards, policies and procedures.

* Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care and information. Provides supervision and coverage in the absence of a nurse manager.

* Patient/Staff Education: Demonstrates a commitment to meeting the learning needs of patients, families, and Staff. Utilizes appropriate resources to meet those needs and achieve positive patient or Staff outcomes. Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers and colleagues.

* Nursing Process: Demonstrates the use of nursing process as a problem-solving model. Demonstrates a mastery of clinical skills related to patient's mental health and physical health needs. Works closely with the CNO and nursing managers to facilitate nursing and educational services.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

* Current license to practice nursing in WV (or eligible to receive or renew).

* Current CPR or BLS certification.

* Prefer a minimum of one (1) year nursing supervisory experience including a minimum of six (6) months in a mental health setting or related professional setting.
