Job Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking an accomplished Director of Program Management to lead the planning, governance, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of IT initiatives across the enterprise. This role is accountable for establishing and enforcing program management frameworks, driving governance across all IT domains (infrastructure, telecom, networking, end-user services, business applications, and integration platforms), and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

The Director will oversee project managers, technical leads, vendor partners, and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring enterprise-wide programs are executed on time, within budget, and in compliance with SOx and internal controls. This position also plays a key role in shaping and productizing IT services for our third-party services business, ensuring IT solutions are designed, delivered, and governed with transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and govern a portfolio of complex IT programs, spanning infrastructure, telecom, networking, end-user services, ITSM, ERP, finance, HR, commercial, and operations applications.

  • Establish and enforce enterprise PMO frameworks, including governance structures, charters, RACI matrices, program plans, and portfolio reporting.

  • Oversee project managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and adherence to program governance standards.

  • Host steering committees (SteerCo) and governance forums, delivering clear updates on progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and decision points for executive leadership.

  • Manage program budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations across multiple domains, ensuring financial discipline and delivery efficiency.

  • Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies across the IT portfolio, developing proactive mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with SOx and internal control requirements across all IT initiatives.

  • Standardize program management practices and tools, driving consistency, transparency, and performance across IT.

  • Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to define and deliver IT services for our third-party services business, ensuring scalability, quality, and productization of offerings.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and results, while developing PMO maturity and best practices.

Working Conditions

  • This position is located in our Charlotte, NC Corporate Office.

Required/Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or other related discipline

  • In addition to the degree above, eight (8)or more years of experience

  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, high school diploma/GED AND 13 years or more years of related work experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive program/project management experience, including enterprise-wide IT program leadership.

  • Proven success leading PMO governance frameworks across multiple IT domains (infrastructure, networking, applications, end-user services, and vendor-delivered solutions).

  • Experience with ERP and financial systems (NetSuite preferred), ITSM platforms, and middleware/API integrations.

  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills, with experience managing multi-vendor delivery models.

  • Demonstrated success delivering programs in SOx/audit-compliant environments.

  • PMP, PgMP, or other advanced program/portfolio management certification required.

  • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills, with ability to influence C-level stakeholders.

  • Experience defining and productizing IT services for external/third-party business units is a strong asset.

  • Strong leadership presence, with proven ability to build governance, drive accountability, and scale PMO maturity.
