Overview

The Claim Assistant III has elevated knowledge and experience in all aspects of claims' support for the lines of business. In this role, the team member performs support services for claims' professionals with minimal supervisor oversight required. The Claim Assistant III plays a key role in onboarding and training new team members, supporting special projects, and serving as a back-up to the supervisor when needed. This role upholds the mission, vision, and values of AmTrust and contributes to the overall success of the Claims' organization.

Team Specialty: EDI Support for Workers' Compensation

EDI, Electronic Data Interchange, is a method of efficiently and accurately exchanging data. This reduces manual work, improves efficiency and accuracy, and allows for confirmation of receipt. EDI in Workers' Compensation is a tool used to relay initial information and subsequent updates from the claim handler's file to the state agency. Each state monitors the claim progression by applying specific guidelines and laws to ensure proper handling. Our team works within specific state regulations when completing filing tasks received by claim handlers, managing requests from state contacts, and assisting with filing corrections.

*This role is hybrid out of of our Latham, NY, Dallas, TX, or Boca Raton, FL office*



Responsibilities

    Complete tasks according to instructions with an average passing audit scores.
  • Enter, submit, and correct filings per state requirements with adjuster assistance.
  • Coordinate and prepare requests for standard, overnight, and certified mailings.
  • Work within multiple platforms or systems when required to complete tasks effectively.
  • Manage communication timely and professionally, including email, phone, and TEAMS.
  • Utilize various Excel reports and projects in SharePoint.
  • Provide dependable back up to supervisor when needed.
  • Receive direction from leadership and complete all work by due date provided.
  • Apply critical thinking and decision-making skills to gather, assess, analyze, question, verify, interpret, and understand key or root issues.
  • Manage own work load, follow ups, and reach out for assistance when needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or college degree
  • Knowledge of claims processes and systems including Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • Strong attention to detail with professional written and oral communication skills.
  • Provide training and mentoring for less experienced or new team members.
  • Manage multiple priorities while working independently or in a team environment.
  • Adapt to a changing, challenging environment and accept new processes.
  • Understand business hierarchy and downstream effects of actions.
  • Prioritize work and manage time effectively for best outcome.

The expected salary range for this role is $22.00/hr - $28.50/hr.
