The University of Virginia's Facilities Management (FM) is seeking an Electrician to join the Building Automation Services (BAS) group. BAS supports the University's academic, research, and healthcare missions by maintaining reliable, efficient, and environmentally responsible building operations. Unlike traditional electrical positions, the BAS Electrician role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of electrical systems and smart building technology. You will gain hands-on experience with building automation, controls, and energy management systems while supporting mission-critical research and healthcare facilities at UVA.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience: At least four years of experience in the electrical trade; experience with low-voltage and control wiring is strongly preferred. Licensure: Journeyman or higher electrical license and a valid driver's license required. Selected candidates must successfully complete all required background checks prior to the first day of employment. Compensation: The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $25 - $30/hour ($52,000 - $62,400 Annually), commensurate with experience. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits. Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, lift, pull, and use both hands for repetitive and overhead tasks. Normal vision and hearing (correctable) are required; in some areas, color vision and sense of smell may be necessary.
