Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position. Responsibilities: Communicate regularly with application production support teams, platform engineering teams and level 3 systems operations teams Troubleshoot and resolve patch and server failures and escalate where needed Quickly identify network or infrastructure related problems and manage the remediation/escalation Serve as a bridge in explaining symptoms and troubleshooting performed to global operations teams if necessary Develop scripts within BladeLogic to automate operating system patching and updates across multiple systems Document and maintain operational procedures Develop a close partnership with Global Markets client support and have a working knowledge of their applications Requirements: 5+ years of experience with Red Hat Linux 6.x, 7.x OS & Kernel 5+ years of experience working with servers in an enterprise environment consisting of 1,500 or more servers UNIX/SHELL SCRIPTS Linux Ansible Experience with Solaris Excellent attention to detail to follow documented procedures Ability to continually offer suggestions to simplify and improve procedures Experience and complete working knowledge of operating system base health/welfare and x86 midrange IBM, Client, Dell hardware troubleshooting Experience in diagnosing, researching and resolving system platform related issues Desired skills: Ansible, Perl, Shell, Python Experience with VCS & RHCS clustering solutions for Redhat Linux Experience with PXE, 10/40GB, Mellanox, SolarFlare Products and Technology Pay range: $48.89 - $56.89 Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
