Overview

The Office of Financial Aid administers financial aid and student employment for all undergraduate and graduate students across the Tufts University School of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering, and School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts. The financial aid staff provides personalized counseling and support to students and families throughout the financial aid process. The Office of Financial Aid is part of the Student Services division and works closely with the Office of Admissions to support prospective and enrolled students.


What You'll Do

The Financial Aid Coordinator provides advanced administrative support to the Financial Aid team and oversees the daily operations of the office. Serving as the front-line representative, the Coordinator will:

  • Handle complex and confidential situations while providing exceptional customer service to students, families, and campus partners.
  • Have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Support financial aid and student employment functions such as loan and payroll processing.

What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience typically acquired by a High school diploma/GED and 5+ years of administrative experience OR a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including word processing, editing and graphics functions, spreadsheet, and database knowledge
  • Bookkeeping or basic accounting knowledge and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in financial aid, student services, or college access programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service

Special Work Schedule Requirements:

This is a hybrid position, with on-campus days determined based on office needs.


Pay Range

Minimum $27.30, Midpoint $32.50, Maximum $37.70

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
