Dematic's Project Engineering team has a need for a Mechanical Engineer to join the new Amazon Strategic Innovation Team, focused on ensuring successful execution of customer requirements within the Amazon business unit.

This is an opportunity to join a team that will be leading strategic initiatives, driving technological advancements, and making a significant impact on Dematic's success in the rapidly evolving Amazon market.

Within this team, you will be responsible for ensuring Amazon expectations are understood and where Dematic's standard offering is not able to meet those expectations. You will frequently interact with Amazon to ensure expectations are properly understood and discuss Dematic's current offerings. You will also collaborate with other members of the Strategic Innovation team to shape a path forward and, collaborate with other internal teams to ensure Dematic is ready to meet Amazon's expectations. The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,875 - $121,550 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What you will do in this role:

  • Review all Amazon specification documents for mechanical engineering requirements.

  • Identify where Dematic's offering and Amazon requirements are not aligned.

  • Identify when other teams need to review certain specifications (Safety, Manufacturing, Training, Installation, Etc.)

  • Document contractual exceptions and clarifications until Dematic is ready to meet Amazon expectations.

  • Support Amazon specification review calls.

  • Evaluate a path to make Dematic capable to meet Amazon's expectations.

  • Evaluate cost and schedule impact required to be compliant.

  • When necessary, present path to compliance to executive teams for direction

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical).

  • 5+ Years of experience at Dematic (preferably within the Amazon Business Unit)

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to deliver results.

  • Demonstrated problem solver.

  • Excellent communication skills are a must.

  • Ability to navigate, influence and operate in a strongly matrixed global organization.

  • Experience with Excel, SmartSheet and basic ability to work within Maestro is required.

  • Ability to prioritize and evaluate solutions with a data driven approach.

  • Demonstrated the following qualities:

    • Understanding of Dematic Standards and Standard Work

    • Navigation of standard work and Application Solution Center.

    • Work with sense of urgency, passionate, and self-motivated.

    • Personal responsibility and pride in work.

    • Does the right things to make teammates feel appreciated, understood, and included.

    • Takes ownership, willing to admit mistakes and gladly shares credit for team accomplishments.
