Job Summary

Supervises staff involved in routine research study coordination. Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review. Oversees staff in the execution of assignments; trains and mentors staff to improve the quality and quantity of work.

Manages applications to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Research Advisory Panel of California (RAPC), and Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Coordinates Schedule 1 DEA licensure; the handling, storage, and accountability documentation of Schedule 1 investigational products; and coordination with pharmaceutical manufacturers for investigator-initiated trials.
Engage with the Office of Clinical Trial Activation (OCTA), Clinical Research Services (CRS), BearBuy, and other university systems to implement research protocols.

Manages clinical trials for patients with eating disorders and clinical trials that include psychotherapy..

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $90,700 -$142,100- $193,500(Annual Rate).

Department Description

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine at UCSF is held within the Department of Pediatrics and Benioff Children's Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. The Division includes 18 interdisciplinary faculty members, including physicians, nutritionists, psychologists, and public health experts, who contribute to a robust body of research and clinical work. Faculty from the Division co-lead UCSF's Eating Disorder Program.
The UCSF Eating Disorders Program is a comprehensive, evidence-based program that supports cutting-edge clinical trials and provides outstanding clinical care for individuals with eating disorders (between 10-25) and their families, including family-based and individual treatments. Our program is a collaboration between Child and Adolescent Services in the Department of Psychiatry and the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related areas
• Clinical Trial Professional certification from a professional society
• Working knowledge of clinical or laboratory research, clinical trial recruitment, eligibility, protocol adherence, quality data submission and adverse event reporting
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, prioritize projects and meet the demands of a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Adaptable to quickly changing priorities
• Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. Demonstrated experience in training others, particularly in the field of research
• Critical thinking skills to evaluate issues and identify a potential solution
• Clear and concise communicator; good verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: problem-solving, teamwork development, leadership, mentorship. Interpersonal skills to effectively motivate others. Works well with others to achieve common goals. Ability to cultivate relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels of administration
• Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in word processing and spreadsheet software. Effectively uses campus' clinical information and documentation application programs. Proven ability utilizing clinical trial management systems
• Experience managing regulatory approvals with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Research Advisory Panel of California (RAPC), and Institutional Review Board (IRB)
• Experience assisting Principal Investigator with maintaining documentation for Schedule 1 DEA licensure; the handling, storage, and accountability documentation of Schedule 1 investigational products; and coordination with pharmaceutical manufacturers for investigator-initiated trial
• In-depth knowledge of Clinical Trial systems at UCSF including Office of Clinical Trial Activation (OCTA), Clinical Research Services (CRS), BearBuy, EPIC Apex, and iRIS
• Experience coordinating clinical trials for patients with eating disorders and clinical trials that include psychotherapy

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree preferred

License/Certification

• Clinical Trial Professional certification from a professional society
