The Division of Cardiology at UVA Health's Heart and Vascular Center is dedicated to enhancing care models that increase access, improve health outcomes, and support patients and families throughout Central Virginia. UVA Health is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) specialized in managing acute cardiology patients to join our esteemed team. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside leading general cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, and electrophysiologists in a dynamic care team, providing comprehensive care to patients admitted with acute cardiac conditions like acute coronary syndromes, acute heart failure, arrhythmias, pacemaker/defibrillator malfunction or infection, transcatheter valve patients and patients undergoing antiarrhythmic drug loads. The APP is involved in procedures by preforming direct current cardioversions. UVA participates in research related to cutting edge advanced diagnostic modalities and treatments in the field of cardiology and APPs play an integral role in the management of these patients. Schedule and Work Environment: *Full-time, clinical role based primarily in inpatient acute cardiology units *Day shifts, three to four 12-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Sunday. Preferred Qualifications: * Previous inpatient cardiology APP experience preferred. * Previous structural heart APP experience preferred. Graduate of an accredited Acute care nurse practitioner or Adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner or physician assistant program with a master's degree preferred. I Clinical

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree. Experience: Department and unit specific. Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position. Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs.
