Hiring Range: $496,000 - $516,000

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester, MA, is looking for a Critical Care Anesthesiologist to join our team in a hybrid position that includes staffing of the Surgical Intensive Care Units, and the Operating Rooms at UMass Memorial Medical Center. The Anesthesia Critical Care Team is covering three ICUs at the Medical Center to include a mixed Surgical and Medical ICU at our Memorial Campus, and two Surgical ICUs at the University Campus: a Trauma-, Transplant-, and General ICU, and a Heart- and Vascular ICU.

  • In the operating rooms, you will be able to care for patients presenting for Vascular-, Thoracic-, Neurological-, Orthopedic-, OB-Gyn-, ENT-, and Laparoscopic Surgery, in addition to Surgical Oncology, Transplant, and major Trauma Surgery. Participation in the Liver Transplant team is an option for applicants with an interest and the requisite level of experience.
  • The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine is home to a fully integrated Residency Training Program with 11 Residents per class, and two Critical Care Fellowship positions.
  • You will have supervision of CRNAs in the anesthesia care team model.
  • We offer opportunities to participate in education and medical simulation, QI work, and research.
  • The Anesthesia Team conducts an average of 60,000 anesthetics per year across the surgical and procedural areas of UMass Memorial Health.

Eligible individuals should have the following qualifications:

  • Must hold a MD or DO degree and qualify for a Massachusetts license
  • Be board certified or board eligible in anesthesiology
