Job Posting: Benefits Contractor (Onsite - Waltham, MA)

We are seeking an experienced Benefits Contractor to support health and welfare benefits administration and compliance activities. This role requires strong technical and regulatory knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments. The contractor is expected to be onsite in Waltham, MA, at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Administer and ensure compliance for all health and welfare benefit programs.



  • Maintain compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, and other federal and state benefit regulations.



  • Manage ACA reporting, Form 5500 filings, and other compliance-related activities.



  • Oversee employee benefits communications and wellness initiatives.



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for complex employee benefit inquiries.



  • Interpret and communicate benefits policies to employees and managers.



  • Manage relationships with plan providers to ensure efficient plan administration.



  • Handle the employee life cycle for benefits, including new hires, life events, open enrollment, and terminations.



  • Oversee benefits invoicing and self-billing for accuracy and timely payments.



  • Manage the Oracle Benefits Module, ensuring accuracy during all system updates and integrations.



  • Partner closely with Payroll, HRIS, HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR Partners, Legal, and IT to maintain seamless benefits administration.



  • Prepare special reports and analyze benefits data as needed.



  • Support HR events such as performance and compensation cycles and maintain benefits-related updates.



  • Develop training materials and process documentation for benefits transactions.




Qualifications:




  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.



  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in benefits administration.



  • Strong knowledge of benefits compliance, including HIPAA, ERISA, ACA, and related regulations.



  • Experience with health and welfare compliance filings, nondiscrimination testing, and government reporting.



  • Oracle HRMS experience preferred; strong HR systems background required.



  • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.



  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.



  • High level of confidentiality, accuracy, and judgment in handling sensitive information.



  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
