Help us build and enable the frontier firm of the future!As a Senior Research Engineer, you will design, implement, and ship to customers around the world research-driven solutions that enhance human-agent interactions. You will research and innovate human oversight, assistance, and management of autonomous agents driving business processes for our customers. You will also bring apps and agents together, driving new possibilities in how agents, humans, and apps can all collaborate to streamline and automate business processes. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your applied science expertise in autonomous, LLM-driven agents, shape the future of human-AI collaboration, build and ship scalable AI systems, and work with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value to our customers. ResponsibilitiesYou will gain expertise in one or more subareas and gain experience in a broad area of research, including applicable research techniques. You'll also gain deep knowledge of a service, platform, or domain, and identify product needs by sharing the latest industry trends and applied technologies.You will review business requirements and incorporate research to meet business goals. You'll provide strategic direction for the kinds of data used to solve problems and apply deep subject matter knowledge to support business impact.You will participate in onboarding of other team members and assist in developing academics to be members of multidiscipline teams. You'll identify new research talent to join Microsoft and collaborate with the academic community to develop the recruiting pipeline.You will document work in progress and experimentation results and share findings to promote innovation.
