Position Summary

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Manufacturing serves as the second-in-command to the Vice President of Manufacturing and acts as a key strategic partner in leading a large-scale, multi-site industrial operation. This role is responsible for driving integrated performance across multiple business units and ensuring alignment across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and financial outcomes.

The AVP will provide leadership oversight to General Managers and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strong financial performance across a manufacturing organization of 1,000+ employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the VP of Manufacturing to execute strategic priorities and operational plans

  • Lead performance and accountability across multiple GM-led business units

  • Drive operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity metrics

  • Support financial planning, forecasting, and cost management initiatives

  • Champion Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts across the organization

  • Oversee capital projects and ensure execution aligns with business objectives

  • Develop leadership capability, bench strength, and succession plans for key roles

  • Foster strong collaboration across operations, finance, HR, engineering, and other functional teams

  • Partner with executive leadership to align manufacturing performance with enterprise objectives

  • Ensure a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization

Position Requirements Education
  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Advanced degree (MBA or related field) preferred

Experience
  • 12+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience

  • Experience operating within large-scale, industrial manufacturing environments

  • Demonstrated success leading multi-unit or complex operations

  • Proven ability to lead and develop senior leaders, including General Managers
