POSITION TITLE: Christmas Driver
REPORTS TO: Business Operations Manager
STATUS: Temporary/Seasonal, Non-Exempt
WORK HOURS: Monday through Saturday - some split shifts up to 40 hours a week.
The approximate start date is November 17th and working through December 24th.

SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Christmas Driver transports bellringing staff and equipment to designated locations and is available to make other pick-ups and deliveries related to Christmas activities as needed.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the vehicle is properly fueled at the start of each shift.
- Ensure Salvation Army phone is kept charged and available during working hours.
- Drive Salvation Army vehicle to transport Bell Ringers and equipment to daily scheduled locations.
- Ensure that all Bell Ringers have a fresh kettle, kettle slip, apron, bell and other necessary materials.
- Regularly checks bell ringing locations to be sure Bell Ringers are following policies and expectations.
- Pick up kettles and Bell Ringers at the end of bell ringing shifts (times may vary) and transport them to the designated location.
- Ensure all equipment is removed from vehicles each night and prepared for use the next day.
- Keep Kettle Coordinator informed of unmanned locations and other issues as they occur.
- Available to pick up other Christmas-related items including, but not limited to, toys from collection locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High school Diploma or equivalent
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Must possess a valid Washington State driver's license
- Must pass The Salvation Army's in house online driver training and Motor Vehicles Records check
- Ability to read Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets
- Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to understand, use and respond to written information.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to grasp, push and pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers
- Ability to reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to perform all tasks as assigned
