Overview:

The Navigator - Mercy Virtual Substance Use Recovery Program (vSURP) serves as the primary point of contact for patients enrolling in the treatment program, providing coordinated, personal, professional, and compassionate service. The Navigator works closely with multidisciplinary team members across the Mercy Ministry Hospital system to support patients through the enrollment and ongoing care process.

The Navigator performs a wide variety of duties, including clerical, call center, and clinical support. Functioning as the primary clerical and front-desk support for the program, working collaboratively with physicians, providers, and social workers to ensure patients receive timely and coordinated care.

Key responsibilities include triaging incoming phone calls, gathering and documenting appropriate information to route to the appropriate team members or decision makers, assisting with patient registration, physician scheduling, and other daily operational activities as needed to maintain program flow and efficiency.

Mercy's Virtual Substance Use Recovery Program (vSURP) is a ministry-wide program continuing to expand across multiple states. This position requires adaptability, flexibility, and a commitment to teamwork in an evolving and fast-paced environment.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma. Bachelor's degree in social work or psychology preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a behavioral health setting preferred.
  • Certification/Registration: BLS required or within 6 months of hire.
  • Other skills & knowledge: Effective oral and written communication skills, customer service focus and skills. Ability to multi-task, detail oriented, with good organizational skills. Ability to handle fast-moving environment with occasional stressful situations. Critical thinking skills with ability to problem-solve. Excellent computer skills with experience in Word and Excel.
