Starkey is hiring for a Staff Accountant to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of accounting analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet account reconciliations. This role will be responsible for automating and documenting processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/RESULTS



  • Actively participate in the month-end close process, prepare journal entries related to areas of responsibility including complex transactions and accounting estimates.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports in accordance with policies.
  • Required to maintain accurate financial records by performing timely and complete reconciliations of financial records and systems.
  • Assist accounts payable with 3 way matching exceptions for inventory purchases and reconciliation of vendor statements vs invoices outstanding in AP system.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Support various cross-functional projects and initiatives within the organization
  • Assist in evaluating, implementing, documenting, and monitoring appropriate internal controls/processes.
  • Actively participate in working with external auditors
  • Ad hoc projects.
  • Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements



  • Education

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.


  • Experience

    • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or industry.




Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Fundamental knowledge of US GAAP and accounting practices
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations a plus.

    The annual salary for this position is between $56,210 - $73,000 / year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout.
