The Reporting & Data Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Federal system evaluation of Core Financial System (Core FS) solutions as part of its FM QSMO initiative. This position requires expertise in federal financial reporting, data analysis, and system reporting capabilities, ensuring that SSA's reporting requirements are fully documented, analyzed, and mapped to Core FS solution capabilities. The analyst will collaborate with accountants, system specialists, and Finance staff to capture current and future reporting needs, assess reporting functionality in Core FS offerings, and support deliverables that guide financial system modernization decisions. Responsibilities:
- Reporting Needs Assessment
- Document client's current reporting requirements derived from Oracle Federal Financials data.
- Work with Finance staff to identify reports consumed across AP, AR, GL, and procurement functions.
- System Reporting Capability Analysis
- Evaluate Core FS solutions' reporting features and determine the degree of alignment with client's needs.
- Identify reporting functions that can be supported with minimal change, significant rework, or are unsupported.
- Gap Analysis Support
- Collaborate with Federal Accountants and the Financial Systems Analyst to assess gaps in reporting capabilities.
- Recommend approaches to address rework and unsupported reporting functions.
- Data Analysis & Documentation
- Support development of gap reports, additional features reports, and Core FS summaries by providing reporting/data perspectives.
- Assist in assessing agency-specific reporting customization and data extraction flexibility.
- Performance Service Measures
- Contribute to the identification of reporting-related performance service measures appropriate for client's financial processes.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Project Manager and client's Finance staff during interviews, workshops, and review sessions.
- Prepare written analyses, visualizations, and input for weekly meetings, monthly status reports, and deliverable submissions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, business intelligence, or data analytics (federal environment preferred).
- Strong knowledge of federal financial reporting requirements and accounting data structures.
- Proficiency with reporting tools and techniques (e.g., SQL, Oracle BI, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets and present findings clearly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and engaging with finance staff.
- Workdays: Monday-Friday
- Must be a US Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Card.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
- Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor's degree or 8 years' equivalent related experience.
- Must be able to clear a federal background investigation - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation.

Salary Information:
Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $90,000 to $100,000. Benefits
