Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Location: Coralville, IA 52241 Shift: Overnight (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM), Monday-Friday and Every Other Weekend (EOW) Duration: 3 months to long term Job Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals within a correctional healthcare setting. Role & Responsibilities: Direct Patient Care: LPNs provide basic nursing care to inmates, including taking vital signs, wound care, and assisting with daily living activities. Medication Administration: They administer medications as prescribed, following proper dispensing and documentation procedures. Emergency Response: LPNs respond to medical emergencies, providing initial care and notifying appropriate personnel. Documentation: LPNs maintain accurate and thorough patient records, documenting medical history, medications, treatments, and responses to care. Collaboration: LPNs work as part of a healthcare team, collaborating with RNs, physicians, and other staff to provide comprehensive patient care. Equipment Management: They evaluate and monitor medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability, proper storage, and functionality. Patient Educational may educate patients on health conditions, medications, and self-care practices. Supervision: LPNs work under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, receiving guidance and oversight in their practice. Requirements: Current IA LPN License. BLS/CPR.
