Lead DevOps Engineer, M&S Platform Baseline (C)

Job Summary:

The Lead DevOps Engineer, M&S Platform Baseline, is a responsible for architecting, implementing, configuring, and maintaining the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) DevSecOps Platform for both cloud and on-premises environments. This role is critical to ensuring the secure, reliable, and efficient operation of the M&S software development, integration, and deployment pipelines that support the C2SET program. The Lead DevOps Engineer will work closely with software development, test, and operations teams to enable continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), infrastructure as code, and platform services for the C2SET suite and its supporting environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and configure the M&S DevSecOps Platform for both cloud and on-premises environments as required by the M&S application, user, or site.
• Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, leveraging tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Fortify, and other industry-standard DevSecOps solutions.
• Develop and maintain platform services, including core platform services, container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
• Ensure the platform supports secure code development, automated testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements (e.g., RMF, NIST SP 800-171, CMMC).
• Design and maintain systems to achieve high reliability, availability, and scalability for M&S software development and deployment.
• Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for platform troubleshooting, upgrades, and incident response.
• Collaborate with software engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of DevSecOps practices across the M&S lifecycle.
• Support transition engineering and knowledge transfer for platform-related activities.
• Maintain documentation for platform architecture, configuration, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and Agile ceremonies as required.

Minimum & Desired Requirements:

• At least 7 years of relevant experience developing in systems such as C++, Python, AFSIM, web services, database, and/or web application development.
• Proficiency with DevSecOps tools and processes, including but not limited to GitLab, SonarQube, and Fortify.
• Experience in platform development, including core platform services and implementing infrastructure as code.
• Experience designing and maintaining systems to achieve high reliability and availability.
• Experience architecting, implementing, and configuring DevSecOps platforms for both cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises environments.
• Security+ CE certification, desired.
• Linux+ certification, desired.

Security Clearance:

• DoD Active TOP SECRET Level Clearance Required.

Travel Requirement:

• 33-50%, CONUS and OCONUS
