Job Description |
The Test Support Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient management operations within the Test Section. The incumbent will have a broad knowledge of the requirements for employees within the assigned section. The TSM will work independently to plan and carry out work assignments and meet customer demand requirements by supervising and guiding assigned personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Oversees and manages the daily operations of the section to ensure that work is being performed at the highest quality and in accordance with applicable work instructions, quality standards, and Government SOPs/JHAs. * Ensures safety is paramount in all regards to include the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Ensures Section participation in applicable government Hazard Analysis Working Group (HAWG) meetings. * Frequently visit all test sites, courses, and facilities to interact with assigned employees; capture employee feedback/recommendations for areas of improvement as well as things going well. * Advises the Department Manager on problem issues; both from customers and subordinates. Works to resolve issues before raising them to the Department Manager for resolution. * Develops, implements, and maintains internal work instructions for section personnel. * Plans, assigns, and prioritizes work to ensure customer requirements are met and are completed in a timely manner. * Attends the ATC Resource Scheduling meetings to coordinate the placement of all assigned personnel in support of project schedules. * Coordinates cross-utilization of personnel with other Section Supervisors to maximize productivity. * Manages incoming support requests in accordance with command priorities. * Maintains performance metric data for the section and provides a summary report to the Department Manager on a weekly basis. * Provides timely and accurate input to all applicable Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) items as required. * Prepares statistical data, reports and presentations as required. * Ensures section personnel receive and maintain proper training and required certifications/licenses for the performance of their duties. This information will be documented in the Cornerstone Learning Management System. * Maintain accurate records for property inventory and equipment accountability. Ensures vehicles and equipment are properly maintained to support mission operations in a safe manner. * Supervises section personnel and coordinates disciplinary actions as needed in accordance with company and union procedures and policies. * Coordinates requests for leave amongst section personnel availability to ensure adequate coverage and approves all leave requests and time sheets in accordance with company procedures. * Participate in the screening, interview, and hiring process for the timely filling of position vacancies. * Maintains a safe, non-hostile, and harassment-free work environment. * Other duties as assigned. |
Qualifications |
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Must have one of the following: -Bachelor's degree and 5 years of applicable experience. -Associate's degree and 7 years applicable experience. -High School Diploma and 10 years of applicable experience. * Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience. * Highly developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is a top priority. * Must share a commitment to maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment while simultaneously optimizing individual performance and contribution. * Advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. * Provide a description of your experience and the type of technical test support activities managed within the Automotive and Warfighter test commodity areas that include: operations, maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification on a wide variety of complex industrial HVAC equipment; ballistic instrumentation test support and data acquisition; operations related to ammunition and high explosives; inspection and repair of towed, self-propelled, and turret artillery and their associated mounts and carriages; technical direction over engineering, technical test support and other supporting personnel in actual conduct of testing in the field or under simulated conditions; and coordination with others to assure all safety, security, environmental and applicable concerns are adequately addressed. Physical Demands and Working Conditions
* The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment and sometimes in the field where you are subject to the environment. * Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. * Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time. * Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted. * Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned. * Must be able to work in all outdoor weather conditions. * Must be able to work in maintenance, fabrication, and automotive test course environments. * Must be capable of kneeling, bending and standing while performing assigned duties. * Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilities.
Terms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements
* Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions. * Must pass a pre-employment drug screening periodic retest. * Must be able to successfully complete a background screening. * Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.

Rate of Pay/Benefits
Annual Salary: $105,000
