SUMMARY

The Lead Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who has graduated from a NP program of graduate studies, who has acquired advanced, specialized clinical knowledge and skills to provide health care. The NP performs comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, orders, conducts, supervises and interprets laboratory tests, prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. The NP promotes health and prevention of illness and injury. The NP practice autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professional to treat and manage patient health problems. The role of the NP includes, direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/family/groups/ and communities advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership and professional development. The Lead Advance Practice Provider provides clinical direction and acts as a resource for MIH staff. This position works collaboratively with MIH operational leaders to enhance operations, quality, and customer service within MIH.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's Degree.

Doctorate Degree in Nursing preferred.

Five (5) years or more experience as a Nurse Practitioner including three (3) or more years of leadership experience in a healthcare related area.

Current Georgia License as a registered professional nurse.

Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP-Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ACLS)
