A Day in the Life

The Solutions Architect is responsible for assisting the firm in improving business efficiency and delivering value to customers via technology initiatives. This role will design technical solutions and manage product backlogs in collaboration with business stakeholders, and communicate with management on how these strategies and models will enhance business efficiency.

Duties may include the following:

  • Define solution requirements with Service Line stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Enterprise Architecture and business objectives.
  • Design scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions in coordination with the technical team.
  • Manage and refine the product backlog to ensure scope and strategic goals are met.
  • Serve as co-Product Owner in Scrum teams, overseeing backlog prioritization, sprint planning, and scope management.
  • Evaluate proposed solutions for feasibility, scalability, and compliance with Eide Bailly technology standards and internal delivery protocols.
  • Maintain technical proficiency in modern cloud platforms and related technologies to support solution decisions.
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration across business units, technical teams, and delivery partners.
  • Mentor team members and lead by example.
  • Contribute to and enforce standards to support consistent quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Create and maintain solution diagrams and documentation.
  • Identify risk and lead mitigation planning with Scrum Team and Service Line Leader.
  • Apply structured consulting practices to assess technical feasibility and business impact.
  • Contribute to roadmap development, release planning, and alignment of technology initiatives with organizational strategy.
  • Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing professional development as mandated.
  • Support change management by communicating solution impacts and facilitating adoption plans.
  • Deliver solutions on time that meet documented requirements and comply with quality standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
  • Maintain compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
  • Actively participate in Community Practice and other knowledge-sharing forums.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in solution architecture, enterprise systems design, or technology leadership. 5+ years experience preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams delivering enterprise technology solutions.
  • Experience in consulting or roles requiring technical expertise and stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with Agile principals and the Scrum methodology, product ownership, and backlog management.
  • Experience with system integration, data centralization, and scalable design.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft and Product Owner credentials.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud-first strategies, and secure, scalable solution design principles.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform, Azure, and related Microsoft technologies.
  • Understanding of Agile frameworks, especially Scrum, and the responsibilities of a Product Owner.
  • Skill in designing integrated systems, centralizing data, and configuring functional components.
  • Ability to assess business needs and technical feasibility to support informed decision-making.
  • Communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Capable of converting business objectives into actionable technology roadmaps and product backlogs.
  • Competence in identifying risks and applying mitigation and escalation strategies.
  • Experience in mentoring peers and supporting the development of high-performing teams.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate technical trade-offs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proficiency with tools for backlog management, documentation, and team collaboration (e.g. Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams/SharePoint).
  • Commitment to maintaining relevant certifications and engaging in continuous learning.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and align business and IT priorities through negotiation.
