Job DescriptionReporting to IT support or network operations leadership, the Network Field Technician is responsible for delivering on-site technical support, network troubleshooting, and enterprise application administration across multiple campus locations. The role supports connectivity, hardware/software installation and diagnostics, and end-user assistance for desktop, network, and audiovisual systems. This position requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, documentation practices, and collaboration across OIT functions to ensure responsive and secure IT service.The salary range for this position is $23.50- $25.95/hr. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Essential Functions The employee will demonstrate TSTC's Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members. Network Support and Troubleshooting Configure IPs, NAT rules, DHCP, and DNS. Assist with Wi-Fi segmentation and VPN support. Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve user and equipment connectivity issues. Field Support Services Perform installation, configuration, and break/fix repair for faculty and staff. Address role-based access needs and permissions in alignment with policy. Event and A/V Technology Support Address AV hardware issues and ensure technical readiness. Enterprise Application and User Support Ensure compliance with licensing, security, and change management policies. Document support actions and contribute to knowledge base development. Collaboration and Documentation Maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, IP maps, and ticket updates. Follow standard procedures for service delivery. Physical and Security Requirements Maintain CJIS compliance and support secure access practices. Education, Experience, & SkillsRequired Qualifications Minimum of 2 years' experience in IT support, network administration, or application troubleshooting. Proficiency in diagnostic tools and remote support platforms. Strong organizational and time management skills. Preferred Qualifications CompTIA Network+ or other technical certification. Understanding of the OSI model and familiarity with WAN and VLAN environments. Experience with enterprise network tools and protocols (e.g., DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP). Employment in this role is contingent upon meeting these security-related qualifications and remaining in compliance with them throughout the duration of employment.
